How To Donate Your Beauty Products

We all have purchased various beauty products that we ended up not using, either because the product wasn’t a fit for the skin, we didn’t like the smell of it, or we just never got around to using it. It’s a shame to let these products go to waste, which is why I encourage people to donate their unused or gently used beauty products (for skin, hair, body, makeup, or nails) to a local women’s shelter.

Women who have been affected by domestic violence, when they arrive to these shelters, most often come with just the clothes on their back, so they are in need of personal care items to get them looking and feeling their best while they are trying to build a life away from their abuser.

It is important that when you donate beauty products you do your best to inspect them so they are appropriate and in good shape to pass on.

Dress for Success: dressforsuccess.org
A non-profit organization that helps less-fortunate women prepare for job interviews by providing professional attire and career training courses. They accept unopened products, business suits, shoes, and jewelry. Use your makeup stash to help someone get a new start.

Beauty Bus Foundation: beautybus.org
Beauty professionals visit homes and hospitals to perform mini makeovers for terminally ill patients as well as their caregivers. They also compile gift bags of goodies for the sick. You’d be surprised how little it takes to brighten someone’s day.

Donate My Dress: donatemydress.org
This non-profit helps teenage girls be the belle of the ball. They provide prom dresses, shoes, and makeup to the teen’s big night.

Women’s Shelter:
Most local women’s shelter will take makeup donations. Homeless and abuse women can gain a little well needed joy from your donations.
